Straight answers before you call
Most questions come down to four things: what it costs, how fast we can get there, whether we're licensed, and what the old cottages do to plumbing. The honest answers are below.
If yours isn't, ring (02) 4063 3422 and ask. You can also read the full picture of what we do on the Carrington home page first.
What does a call out cost?
Nothing. Every job starts with a $0 call out, so you never pay just for us to turn up and look. You pay for work you approve, nothing before that.
How does quoting work before a job starts?
You get the price in writing before a tool comes out. We look at the job, quote it clearly first, and you approve the figure or we leave, no charge.
Do you offer same-day service?
Yes, same-day where the schedule allows. Emergencies jump the queue, and we'll tell you honestly on the phone where your job sits. Call (02) 4063 3422 for a straight answer on timing.
Which suburbs do you cover besides Carrington?
The peninsula's neighbours are all on our regular run: Tighes Hill, Maryville, Newcastle West and Wickham. A job next door still gets the same crew and quote.
What plumbing problems are common in the older cottages here?
Age does the damage. Earthenware sewer joints crack after a century, galvanised supply lines choke with rust, and salt air chews external fittings faster than the same gear lasts inland.
Do you handle drainage and hot water as well as general plumbing?
All of it. Drainage, hot water and general plumbing each have their own hub on this site, with every sub-service covered in detail, from blocked drains to gas fitting.
Are your plumbers licensed?
Every job is done by licensed plumbers and left compliant, including gas work, which should only ever be touched by a licensed fitter. Small repairs and big digs, same standard.
How do I book a plumber?
Ring (02) 4063 3422 and tell us what's happening. We ask a few quick questions so the right gear is on the truck, then quote the job before any work starts.
The cost side, in a bit more detail
People worry about open-ended plumbing bills, and fairly. The way we work removes the guesswork:
The call out costs nothing
The quote comes before the work
What you approve is what you pay
Knock it back and you owe nothing
That applies to a dripping tap and a full drainage dig alike. The size of the job changes; the process doesn't.
Same-day work and emergencies
Same-day service is real, but it's honest about the schedule. A booked job on a quiet morning might land that afternoon. A packed Friday might push to the next day, and we'll say so on the phone rather than promise and miss.
Genuine emergencies are different.
The emergency plumbing hub covers the three big ones in detail: burst pipes, an overflowing toilet and no hot water.
One tip while you wait:
What the peninsula does to plumbing
The housing here is a century and more old, and the ground under it was harbour before it was streets. That combination produces a few problems we see week in, week out:
Old clay sewer runs
Rusted supply pipes
Groundwater under the yard
Salt air
None of it is a surprise to us. It's the regular run, and the gear on the truck reflects that.
If the answer lives on another page
The site is set out so each area has its own depth. The home page for Carrington links every hub, and each hub covers its own services properly:
If you're weighing up who to call, the about page explains how we work, and the contact page has the details. Otherwise, the fastest route is a phone call.
